Research as content, method, approach and context in the training of professionals in the contemporary university

The present work proposes an approach to research from a perspective that assumes this process as content, method, approach and context for the formation of professionals in the contemporary university. The search for theoretical sources was carried out based on criteria such as: study of the subject matter for the different areas of knowledge, with emphasis on business sciences, depth in the analysis of the state of the art of the problem and its analysis from the transversality. Analyzing the literature has allowed the identification of the concept of research and research skills, as well as their condition of transversal axis for the formation of professional competences. The university has a fundamental role in the respective process and potentiates the competences of its students, and among the main functions is the creation of culture from the research processes that are generated in it and, consequently, participates actively in the solution of the problems of the environment, which also constitutes its social task; being this fundamental in the process and the priority in the formation for the investigation of the students and to the development of formative abilities as part of their professional competences, besides the self-preparation and permanent training of the teacher, key link in the development processes. The work capacity mediated through competencies, which the student receives in his training process, is the search for the necessary elements that constitute skills, abilities, and behaviors properly organized in order to achieve specific goals and objectives, these must be measured and qualified effectively, within the levels of performance required at work; it is achieved with the acquisition and development of knowledge, expressed in the performance through the integration of knowledge, know-how and know how to be.
