Influence of facebook marketing on the economy of local businesses in Santa Rosa, El Oro Province

This study aims at measuring the influence of promoting products and services through the social network Facebook in the revenue of local businesses of Santa Rosa, a city that belongs to El Oro province. For this study, we intentionally selected five local businesses located in Santa Rosa: a discobar, an appliance and furniture store, a hostel, a boutique and a seafood restaurant. The owners of these businesses were given a survey with multiple choice questions. Similarly, the responses of another survey
applied to one hundred customers -twenty for each business- are also part of the results of this research.
The information gathered from the first survey was corroborated by observing the information available on the Facebook pages of the businesses under study. For the methodology of this report, we proceeded
to quantitatively analyze the data obtained from the surveys specified. The results of the analysis of the data showed that promoting products and services through the social network Facebook has positively influenced the economy of Santa Rosa. Similarly, the results show that businesses that have used this as a marketing tool for longer perform advertising updates more frequently, which may positively affect the increase in customers and thus raising the income received sales.
