Abstract

This article aims to describe, analyze and compare the data provided by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC ) and WIN- Gallup International, on religious affiliation in Ecuador and the world . For this will be a tour of the definitions of the major religions and the position of people who consider themselves agnostics or atheists , as well as the number of member variables and indices of religiosity and atheism in the world. Data according to the geographic location will also be analyzed , taking into account the main cities of Ecuador . To meet this objective, a descriptive study on the current religious affiliation, ran in Ecuador. One of the data released this research is that Ecuador is still a country with a high level of religiosity , especially the large number of Catholic, Protestant and other religious movements within it.
