Abstract

In recent years much has been discussed about whether tourism is a science or not, a discussion that today is more than useless, vain, since it is indisputable that in the so-called "concrete reality", this is the world around us, and that tangible or intangible human beings can perceive, understand and try to explain in order to undertake their manipulation and transformation through what is known as science. The present article of reflexive analysis seeks to support this position, that indeed tourism is a science (turismology) whose object of study is precisely tourism as a highly dynamic complex epiphenomenon, constituted in five levels of analysis and approximation (fact, activity, process , system and phenomenon). Situation that is essentially key to understand its articulation to higher levels of training in the field of the university, as well as facing the effective professional practice of this neo professional that the current world has given in calling "turismologist", whose professional identity is still debate among the marshes of a reductionist vision of tourism as services and business, at the process level; and not as the man of science, and / or superior professional that today the world claims.
