Abstract

Mexico is committed to ensuring gender equality in its population because it signed the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development which consists of an action plan that aims to eradicate poverty and ensure prosperity by protecting natural resources so that they do not remain committed to future generations. In such a way that, for that nation, it is essential to know the current state of attitudes towards gender equality of its population, particularly young people because it will be these who must continue to promote and enjoy the benefits of gender equality. For this, a duly validated survey was applied to know the attitudes towards gender equality in the relational, sociocultural and personal levels of 347 students of higher level of the National Technological Institute of Mexico in Celaya. It is concluded that there are statistically significant differences in the attitude of the students according to their sex and, in addition, that the answers and sex of the respondents are independent. Likewise, it was observed that the attitude of women tends to be equal at all levels and in the global, while the attitude of men is adaptive at all levels except for the personal level since the number of responses that remained classified in the adaptive and egalitarian attitude is practically the same.
