Abstract

This research analyzes the social responsibility, the application of ethics in their operational processes, and the strategic management of the companies Petroecuador, Petroamazonas, and La Libertad refinery in the oil sector of Ecuador, considering the economic development that they contribute to the country within a legal framework in which they comply with technical procedures that protect the environment, especially in these times in which they contribute significantly to the ecosystem. This study evaluates the negative effects caused by the productive processes of the oil companies with the purpose of making all the actors involved in the protection of the environment aware of the fact that they only apply strategies or methods that control the propagation of environmental damage. The exploratory and documentary research allows the evaluation of the situation in which this type of industries work, the analytical-synthetic methods contribute to obtain real information on the activities of the oil companies. Finally, the aim is to contribute in terms of social responsibility with the productive processes generated, the results are relevant for future research on the performance of oil companies and their relationship with environmental protection
