Wave energy is the energy that allows the production of electricity from mechanical energy generated by the movement of the waves. It is one of the types of renewable energy with recent studies, and has huge advantages over other renewable energy because it comes more easily to predict optimal geological conditions that allow greater efficiency in their processes. Because it is easier to reach optimums well forecast, compared with that obtained with the winds for wind energy, since its variability is less. This paper hopes to contribute and elucidate especific facts about the morphology of the sea area in the province of Santa Elena, to predict whether the characteristics of the site are suitable for electricity production based on the implementation of wave energy such as non-conventional renewable source using the current technologies for this purpose
