Abstract

This work involves the monitoring and evaluation of an ecological restoration carried out in the Albatera catchment during the years 2003 and 2004. The objective of this study is focused on plant survival after the summer of 2014 compared to data obtained in previous years. For gathering the data it was necessary to travel to the basin for 20 days between February and March 2015 to collect data on survival and growth. Also, it was necessary to review historical data about the reforestation and gather the meteorological data of the area. The results show higher survival and growth of planted species in the sun facing slopes than on the north oriented ones and especially on the unit located in the old afforestation terraces. Also we found higher survival of the seedlings planted during the reforestation of 2004 than those planted in 2003.
