Abstract

This paper aims to: Evaluate the feasibility of alternative energy uses for the SEK Limon cocha Station in Ecuador, through the lifting of the energetic potentialities for the most appropriate selection of the type of renewable energy. For the study, a geographic survey of the area and the measurement of the parameters: solar radiation, speed, direction and frequency of the wind, relative humidity to more than the temperature, is carried out to determine the feasibility of the use of the Wind and solar energy as primary sources. In a second moment, an energy balance is executed, to know the energy consumption inside the station. Finally, the study allows to determine that the use of solar radiation as an energy source in the sector can be successfully developed. However, by identifying that windspeed levels are low, discarded the feasibility of using.
