Abstract

The reactivity of certain copper metalloenzymes and some synthetic copper complex has been studied, showing reactivity with substrates, through interaction with the molecular oxygen. Also they has been observed the several forms they interact and the reason why some of this act with the oxygen to be carrier as for example Hemocyanins, and others forming adducts to mediate chemical reactions towards certain phenolic substrates. It is also proposed a review of the mechanisms for phenol hydroxylation and oxidation to Quinone. Finding dependence to esteric and redox factors in the bond substrate-Cu complex
