Abstract

Globally vehicule harmful gas emissions have caused great human loss. The purpose of this research was the construction of a prototype for monitoring and alerting the levels of pollutant gases inside vehicles with a combustion system. The prototype consists of 5 blocks and can monitor the air quality of the passenger compartment with sensors that measure carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen   oxides   (NOx) and benzene, displaying the information obtained, messages in extreme cases, in addition to activating devices according to the calculated level. Through heating and calibration tests of the sensors, it was determined that the prototype needs 5 minutes to stabilize its readings, these have an absolute error of ±1,65%; When calculating the repeatability with the correlation coefficient, a maximum value of 3,93% is obtained. The implemented prototype is reliable to monitor the concentration of gases in the passenger compartment by activating sound and air circulation actuators
