Influence of open source and its simplicity in the development of academic web systems

The new web technologies have reached an essential level becoming a priority need in the University Institutes, for this reason this research shows the feasibility of automating the management of enrollment and grades of the Instituto Superior Tecnológico "San Gabriel". The analysis, development and implementation were carried out through the agile methodology Scrum, which allows to divide into small blocks of functionalities for each module of the system to later improve and adjust the results. In addition, the constant collaboration of the client with the Scrum team guarantees a quality software. For the construction of the system we used object-oriented programming, N-Layers architecture and Laravel as development framework. The proper use of the system allows to automate the enrollment and grade control information in the institution.
