Abstract

The present work is the result of the committed work of the teaching staff of the Biology Degree, with the objective of developing a protocol that ensures the effectiveness of the processes and actions to be developed in the Faculty of Marine Sciences of the Peninsular State University of Santa Elena with the implementation of Knowledge Integrating Projects (PIS). Starting from the study of the new curricular redesigns, of the socio-educational demands of Ecuador and the indications given by the CES and the CAACES, a bibliographical and documentary analysis was carried out that allowed to take the scientific foundations and necessary legal precepts, to value previous experiences developed in other educational contexts and make the contributions and contextualized adjustments that are required in the field of our career. The elaborated protocol and the derived actions were socialized and analyzed by the scientific commission and by all the teachers in different workshops and work sessions, and can still be perfected. It is considered that it can contribute to the development of other teaching experiences, to curricular improvement and to the improvement of the quality of training of Ecuadorian higher education.
