Peruvian Magazines in Scopus. Case study

The objective of this research is to describe and analyze bibliometrically the Peruvian journals indexed in the Scopus platform, in light of the establishment of the entry into force of the Regulation of the National Scientific, Technological and Technological Innovation Registry - RENACYT in 2016. This research corresponds to a descriptive and analytical work of bibliometric order. The study includes the bibliometric description of Peruvian journals indexed on the Scopus platform between 2017-2018. The results indicate that the scientific indexing platform Scopus, counts 8 Peruvian publications considered of high impact distributed between quartiles Q3 and Q4. These publications include biomedical, veterinary, humanities, literature, psychology, philosophy and communication. It concludes that the presence of Peruvian journals within the Scopus platform constitutes an important impulse for national scientific visibility, however, the number of journals and their diversification continues to be insufficient in light of the RENACYT regulations. The dominion of the biomedical and veterinary thematic areas is an indicator of the local demand for indexed multidisciplinary journals that make Peruvian research visible within the national and international scientific community.
