Melipona bees are essential for pollination, vital for plant reproduction and crop production. In Manabí, it contributes to the pollination of more than 50% of wild plants, maintaining local biodiversity. However, its population is declining due to the use of pesticides and habitat alteration with deforestation, putting its existence and the stability of ecosystems at risk. This study proposes a comprehensive strategy to conserve its habitat in Chone. Using a qualitative approach, biodiversity and ecosystems were reviewed through documentation and participatory methods, such as interviews with beekeepers and farmers. Critical areas for biodiversity were identified and policies and regulations were suggested to promote sustainable practices, including the protection of honey areas, community education, ecosystem monitoring and sanctions for violators. The proposal seeks to preserve biodiversity and promote sustainable development.
