A second study is presented that analyzes the feasibility of implementing photovoltaic plants in the national territory, in order to supply present and future energy demands with clean energy. Here it´s proposed to implement a photovoltaic plant of 130,24 MW, analyzing several areas and the requirements of the province of Chimborazo, the solar resource, current regulations, design components. Financial and environmental aspects were evaluated with the RETScreen Expert software, determining profitability for the commercialization of energy between 163,65% to 784,90% according to the CONELEC 004/11 regulation, with a projection of maximum generation costs of 0.063 USD/ kWh and would cover a demand of 195,74 GWh estimated in 13 years. The proposal is 8,52 times the minimum installed capacity of hydroelectric projects in the province. Its implementation would contribute to the development of the productive matrix and would place it as the largest power generation plant in the region.
