Abstract

In Ecuador, there are no studies on the adaptability, growth, and yield of coffee cultivation under Amazonian conditions in the provinces of Pastaza and Napo. The objective of this research was to analyze the adaptability in morphological variables and productive yield of five clones of robusta coffee (Coffea canephora L.) in their first productive phase under the conditions of the Amazonian Experimental Research and Production Center of the Amazon State University (CIPCA). In this research, five coffee clones from the CEIPA Coffee Program were evaluated. Morphological variables and productive yield were measured. Data were analyzed using the statistical software SPSS v.20.0. The results revealed that the L-G-SO1 clone exhibited better field establishment after planting. The clones considered promising were: L-G-SO1 with 2.04t/ha/year, followed by L-G-SO2 with 1.88t/ha/year of coffee. Finally, in this phase, all the clones adapted to the soil and climate conditions of CIPCA.
